Biography
Amy Fraenkel, Executive Secretary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), has over 30 years of experience in international environmental law and policy. She joined CMS after having led the Division on Mainstreaming, Cooperation and Outreach at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Montreal, Canada and serving as the Director of the UNEP Regional Office for North America in Washington, D.C. She has also held senior positions in the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. Government, and in private law practice. Fraenkel holds a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School and is a graduate of Grinnell College. In addition to English, she speaks French and Spanish.
